Title Note | Detail of wall between stable and cowshed, Southwest elevation |
Date | September 1952 |
Description | This image shows the southwest elevation of a log structure that was built by John C. Clark in 1881. This is a detail of the wall between the stable and the cowshed. There are gaps between the logs near the top of this elevation, although the spaces between the logs that make up the lower half of the structure have been filled with smaller pieces of wood. The roof of the structure appears to be made of wooden shingles. This image was taken at the original site of the structure, near milepost 36.4 in Section 1E of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The building was disassembled and reconstructed at the Humpback Rocks Visitor Center and Mountain Farm, near milepost 5.8 in Section 1B of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This image was taken by C. S. Grossman in September 1952. |
