Description The image shows a window display at Pugh's Department Store celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The display contains six framed photographs of the Blue Ridge Parkway, a twentieth anniversary poster, and two mannequins in dresses, hats, and gloves. There is also an advertisement that reads, "Dark in color / Light in feeling / The cool approach to summer." Photograph was taken by L. Arnberger and Earl Estes on June 28, 1956, in Roanoke, Virgina, which is near milepost 121.4 in section 1N of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The building that held N.W. Pugh Department Store is now called The Hancock.
