Description The image shows a blooming twinleaf (Jeffersonia diphylla) plant surrounded by dried leaves and twigs. The plant was found in Roanoke County, Virginia, at Camp Tree Top on a bluff overlooking Roanoke River. The photograph was taken by Myrl Brooks on April 6, 1950. Marked by the National Park Service as being from milepost 125 in section 1N of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Photographer's remarks on photocard: "The flowers of this plant last but a day and to the occasional observer it may seem that they do not open into full bloom at all."
