Title | Replacing Rail Fence |
Date | June 1971 |
Description | The image shows white and African American men repairing a wooden rail fence. They appear to be installing posts for a wire fence. They stand on the far side of the fence, to the right of the road. Beyond them is a large, open pasture, with several farm buildings located along a small hillside. Scattered trees appear on the hill leading up to the farm buildings, and a more densely wooded area is in the background. The image was taken by Robert G. Bruce in June of 1971. Image was taken near milepost 168 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the Rocky Knob District of the parkway in Floyd County, Va. |
