  • Description

    The Brunswick County War Memorial is a single gable top granite panel on a double base. The panel and upper base are finished and the lower base is rough-hewn. At the top of the panel is an American eagle above two furled flags and a shield with 13 stars and 13 bars. Above the eagle is a set of three stars.

    To the right of the memorial is what appears to be a 60mm U.S. M2 mortar. A flagpole placed by American Legion Post #247 in 2000 stands next to the mortar.

    The memorial is located near the corner of Court House Dr. NE and Government Center Drive Northeast north of Old Ocean Highway (Business U.S. 17), on the left when traveling north, in Bolivia, NC.
