Augusta, Oct. 8th, 1785.

Sir:

On the 17th ult, the day I arrived here, I had the honor to address a letter to you, in which I informed you, that the time of holding the treaty at Golphinton was postponed from the 19th Sept. to the 24th Oct. inst, and that I had not then learned to what time the other which was to have been held, on the 19th Inst., at or near Fort Rutledge, was postponed to. I have since been informed, that it is to be the 15th November. As soon as they are over, I shall proceed to New York and take my seat in Congress. The State of Georgia have appointed those Agents to attend them on her part.
