There are twenty-six volumes of documents in The Colonial and State Records. Volumes 1 through 10 contain documents pertaining to the colonial period. Volumes 11 through 22 contain documents pertaining to the post-colonial period. Volumes 23 through 25 contain North Carolina's early laws. Volume 26 contains the 1790 Census.
