Trusty and wellbeloved, we greet you well. We being well satisfied of the loyalty, integrity and ability of our trusty and wellbeloved

John Sampson Esqre have thought fit hereby to signify to you our Will and Pleasure that forthwith upon the Receipt of these presents you swear and admit him the said John Sampson, to be of Our Council in Our Province of North Carolina in America, in the room of James Innes Esqre deceased, and for so doing this shall be your warrant and so we bid you farewell.

Given at our Court at St. James's this 8th day of December 1760 in the first year of our Reign.
