Trusty and welbeloved, We greet you well. Whereas we have taken into our Royal consideration the Loyalty integrity and ability of our Trusty and welbeloved John Montgomerie Esqre We have thought fit hereby to authorize and require you forthwith to cause Letters Patents to be passed under Our Seal of that Our Province of North Carolina in America for constituting and appointing him the said John Montgomerie Our Attorney General
of and in Our said Province To have, hold execise and enjoy the said Office unto him the said John Montgomerie during our pleasure and his Residence within Our said Province together with all and singular the Rights Salaries, Fees, Profits, Privileges and Emoluments thereunto belonging or appertaining and for so doing this shall be your Warrant. And so We bid you Farewell. Given at Our Court at St. James's the 30th Day of November 1730 in the Fourth year of our Reign
