NC Ten-Dollar Note
Written date "Feb. 15th, 1862."
Trains were also popular images on currency, symbolizing progress and
projecting the promise of greater prosperity. Central vignettes very
similar to this one can be found on variety of other southern notes,
including two-dollar notes issued by Florida in 1863 and on one-dollar
notes issued by Georgia that same year. Even though different printers
produced these other notes, a comparison of their vignettes reveals how
the designs of one money-maker influenced those of another.
