1.	Gladys Harris, August 8, 1979. Interview H-0124. Hosiery Mill Worker Describes Life and Work in Gastonia, North Carolina: Gladys Harris grew up in a farming family during the 1910s and 1920s. In 1940, she went to work as an inspector and as a sewer in Gastonia, North Carolina, hosiery mills. Because her husband was unable to work, Harris was the chief earner for her family. She describes her experiences at work over the course of several decades.
