The Board met according to adjournment

Present

    Mr Hatch
    Mr Montgomery
    Mr Alves
    Mr Hawkins
    Mr Williams
    Mr Smith
    Mr Troy
    Mr Wright
    Mr Murphey
    Mr Hay
    Mr Ed. Jones
Mr Haywood from the Committee appointed to inquire whether any alteration or modification of an Ordinance passed in July last, directing the manner of appointing Monitors, prescribing their duty &c &c. was necessary, presented the following Report, viz,
The Committee to whom it was referred to report whether it be most advisable to repeal or continue in force the Ordinance of the Trustees of the University of North Carolina, passed in July last,

directing the manner in which Monitors should then and thereafter be appointed, their duty in Office &c.
Report,
That in their opinion it is advisable that the said Ordinance and every part thereof be rescinded and made void; and to that end they submit the following, viz,
An Ordinance to repeal and make void an Ordinance of the Trustees, passed at the seat of the University in July last, providing for the appointment of Monitors, and directing their duty during the continuance of such their appointment.
Be it ordained by the Trustees of the University of North Carolina, and it is hereby ordained accordingly, that the said Ordinance and every part thereof be and the same is hereby repealed and made void.
John Haywood for the Committee
Resolved, That this Board do concur with the foregoing Report, and that the Ordinance therein contained as above written, be and the same is hereby adopted.
Resolved, That Mr Wright, Mr Troy, and Mr Haywood be appointed a Committee to inquire whether any and what further regulations are necessary to be adopted for the Government of the University...
