Victims of September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks, Duke University (Durham)
The Duke Alumni Association planted six trees in memory of the six Duke University alumni who died in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. In addition to the grove of trees, there is a small plaque adhered to a rock which honors the deceased alumni.

Peter Ortale (37 years old) worked for Euro Bankers in the World Trade Center. Christopher Pitman (30 years old) worked for Cantor Fitzgerald along with Michael Taylor (42 years old). Frederick Rimmele (32 years old) was a Family Practice Resident at Beverly and Hunt Hospitals in Beverly, Massachusetts. Mr. Rimmele perished on United Airlines Flight 175.
The trees are located in the Keohane Quadrangle on Duke University's campus in Durham, North Carolina.
