Description Image shows a cleared area of open ground in preparation for road construction near the intersection of Tuggle Gap Road with the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are cars parked along the construction site, appearing in the far right and left sides of the photograph, and several people stand by a car on the right side of the image. Toward the center of the photograph, an indentation is visible in the original hillside, where a road cut has been made. Scattered trees appear in the background on both sides of the intersecting road. Image taken by R.F.E. in 1936. Image taken near milepost 165 and station 9+47 in section 1S of the Blue Ridge Parkway, on the right shoulder of the road looking back.
