Commentary | This picture shows the basic housing for Blue Ridge Parkway and National Park Service employees. The date of this picture is 1959, six years after the completion of Section 2Q of the Blue Ridge Parkway. These houses were possibly built to accommodate the employees who were working on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the time and ended up becoming permanent housing for the employees who remained to continue the upkeep. |
