Date | 1930s |
Description | Photograph shows an unidentified body of water and unidentified road among hills with no indication of location or relevance to Blue Ridge Parkway. |
Commentary | Scenic view of Blue Ridge Parkway, most likely in mid 1930s. Although the Parkway was built through some beautiful glades, forests, and hills, the designers of the road tried to ensure that the final result of the Parkway created a pleasing view that complemented the surrounding nature. Landscaping surrounding the road softened curves, mirrored the lines of the land, and attempted to enhance the view as much as possible. Picture is not labeled. |
