Commentary | Located in Alleghany County, Doughton Park is a 6000 acre area that was called the Bluffs until 1961. In 1961 the name was changed in honor of Robert Doughton, a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He played a key role in the creation of the Blue Ridge Parkway. |
