Commentary Viaducts were used to bypass waterways, roadways, and stretches of land. This section of the Blue Ridge Parkway was constructed between 1936 and mid-1938. Various federal and state agencies like the Civilian Conservation Corps and Bureau of Public Roads helped with construction.
